‘I remember just driving around the neighbourhood, relentless, looking for Mum. This would’ve been seven or eight hours and by this stage; I was in tears. I’m just thinking, “Where could she be? Please, God, be with her.”’
Grandparenting: finding the fun
‘There is something really special when you are in a crowd and they pick you out. That to me is the most special thing. Like, they might be upset, but they’ll come to you because you are Nana’.
Reaching beyond barriers
Romans 10:14-17
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!’
But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, ‘Lord, who has believed our message?’ Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.
The power of God’s Word is life-changing! I can personally attest to His changing power. I grew up as a non-Christian until I was 18 when God’s word spoke to me.
We live in a world where technology connects us instantly – with friends, with strangers, potential partners, potential enemies – however radio still remains a powerful tool for reaching people. Whether they are in remote villages, bustling cities, or even places where Christianity is restricted, radio broadcasts can reach seemingly unreachable places.
‘Messages of Hope’ allows the Gospel to be heard by those who may never step into a church. It provides encouragement to believers and introduces Jesus to those who have never known Him. Unlike other forms of media, radio reaches people in their homes, workplaces, and even in the midst of their struggles, offering hope at just the right moment. We are not always invited in, as we are already there, where people willingly, or oblivious to our presence, hear the ‘Word of God’.
God calls us to spread His word in every way possible. Whether through personal conversations, printed materials, or modern technology like radio, the goal remains the same—to bring the Good News to all people. As Romans 10:14-17 reminds us, faith grows when people hear the Word of God.

Hot and thirsty
Do you have a past you want to forget? Trying to ignore it by covering the pain with something else sometimes seems to be the only way, but the guilt and shame stick around.
When waters rise
‘Life doesn’t stop for anything even a natural disaster. You can become pretty naive to think that it won’t happen to you.
Good grief
‘I’ve had a fair bit to do with grief in my life – enough to know that one size does not fit all. My grief, and how I grieve, is not the same as yours.’
Finding hope in your grief
